  • About

It is Noble Caledonia’s vision to improve economic, social and environmental conditions in the areas they work and visit and so in 2013 they established the Noble Caledonia Charitable Trust. With the company covering the administration costs, the Trust is able to transfer 100% of donations directly to the beneficiaries. Money is raised from a percentage of Noble Caledonia’s profits, fundraising by staff and donations from our travellers and business partners.

In 2020, Noble Caledonia are partnering with SEED Madagascar to support the crucial work of their Sekoly School Building Programme.

In Madagascar’s Anosy region, where SEED work, half of 6-10-year-olds have never attended school, and a staggering 97% of the population do not have access to basic sanitation. Household education levels are shown to be linked to poverty rates; therefore education is crucial to allowing vulnerable children and the wider communities to escape the cycle of poverty.

This year project Sekoly will provide Ranomafana Lycée with three fully-furnished classrooms, an office and two three-cubicle latrine blocks. The school grounds will be connected to a piped water connection with three taps, providing students and teachers access to running water.

Following completion of the project, it is anticipated that students will be able to attend full days of school in hygienic grounds and understand the importance of hygiene and sanitation, which will reduce health problems. Access to education increases child safety and the potential for financial stability in future, helping to lift some of the country’s poorest out of extreme poverty.
