Toby Moatt
My Story
My name is Toby and I am 15 years old. For the last year I have been training and planning for for my first long distance cycling challenge.
On 20th July this year my Dad and I catch our flight to Inverness. Followed by a train to Wick, then a short bike ride up to John o' Groats and the beginning of our epic journey.
We start with The Great Northern Trail. An 800mile off road trail from JOG to the southern side of the Peak Distrct. The next 400 odd miles are on cycle paths, lanes and B roads all the way down to Lands End and our finish line.
All being well we aim to complete the ride in 2 to 3 weeks but it might take longer depending on conditions and weather.
My Dad has completed several challenges over the last few years including The Tour Divide, all to raise money for an amazing charity, who among other things help to provide children in Madagascar with the opportunity of gaining an education by building schools for them. This charity is Seed Madagascar and I would like to support them by asking friends and family to sponsor my ride. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
This is huge challenge to undertake, especially as my first long distance ride, and I know there is every chance we will not complete it. But I plan to give it my all. So fingers crossed for our success and smooth ride.
